Arena –Take 1: Facing the Spectacle by Sebastian Wells is a critical examination of the Olympic Games and the media mechanisms behind this global mass spectacle. In contrast to traditional portrayals of the Olympics – typically centered on triumph, nationalism, and outstanding athletic achievement – Wells reveals the structures of the Olympic narrative and the systems of global attention it generates.
Sebastian Wells, born in 1996 in Königs Wusterhausen, is a Berlin-based photographer, a member of the OSTKREUZ agency, and co-founder of Solomiya magazine.
